The addition of CONVERGE to our computational toolbox has changed the dynamics of the combustion CFD process; the new designs can now be analyzed faster than they can be generated. The analysis process accelerated significantly thanks to the elimination of mesh development time, automatic mesh refinement (AMR) during the calculation, and parallel computation. The quality of the results is also impressive. Not only did the fuel spray modeling show very good agreement with our in-house spray visualization and droplet size measurements, but our first combustion simulation attempt showed excellent correlation with experimental data. The automatic mesh refinement concentrates the computational power exactly where it is needed. Just like our engine, CONVERGE is redefining the state of the art. Well done!
