CONVERGE Features
Fully Automated Parallelization
CONVERGE™ can be run in either serial or parallel mode. Distributed memory parallelization is accomplished with MPI.
The image below shows a speedup curve for a spray-bomb simulation with approximately 100,000 cells. The simulations were done on Intel Dual Core 3.4 GHz PCs with a Gigabit Ethernet connection. Higher speedups can be obtained with faster network connections and more cells.
The parallel option in CONVERGE™ includes the following features:
- Automatic domain decomposition and load balancing.
- Minimum data transfer between CPUs.
- Maximum memory usage of all CPUs.
- Full parallelization of both stationary and moving boundary simulations, as well as discrete phase and combustion.
- Excellent speedup is obtained.
