The automotive industry is rapidly evolving, and much of the focus is on electric vehicles (EVs). EVs can help the transportation industry become more sustainable and reduce local emissions. A major challenge for EV manufacturers is thermal management. The electrical systems must be kept within a certain temperature range to provide the best performance and not exceed safe operating conditions.
In this webinar, Tamara Gammaidoni and Dr. Jacopo Zembi from the Università degli Studi di Perugia will demonstrate how CONVERGE CFD software is a valuable tool for designing and optimizing cooling systems for battery packs and electric motors. Comparing their simulations to available experimental data, they will show that CONVERGE provides predictive results for temperature and flow distribution in EV applications. Finally, they will outline the best practices for battery pack and motor simulations to achieve the most accurate results possible while saving computational time.
