Learn about our newest major release! In this course we will offer a brief introduction to some of the new features and enhancements in CONVERGE 3.0. Topics to be covered will include:
- Cell-based load balancing and other solver-related improvements
- New input (YAML) and output (HDF5) file formats for increased flexibility and stability
- Inlaid grids, which can be used for boundary layer meshes or spray-aligned conical meshes
- Boundary-related enhancements, including more robust periodic boundaries
- Initialization perturbations and new mapping initialization options
- Physical modeling improvements, including enhancements to the ECFM and ECFM3Z combustion models, a new dynamic thickened flame model, an enhanced wall treatment option for some turbulence models, and the addition of the P1 spherical harmonics radiation model
- New chemistry tools, including 0D reactors and engine calculators, and improvements to make all chemistry tools more user-friendly and computationally efficient
- The option to couple CONVERGE with the Abaqus finite element solver
Please note that this course will not provide in-depth setup information for new features in CONVERGE 3.0. *This lecture does not include hands-on CONVERGE Studio practice.
