You can download a CONVERGE Studio installation package from the Convergent Science Hub (https://hub.convergecfd.com/downloads). Note that you must log in to this website. The installation file is located in the path /CONVERGE <version>/<operating system>/CONVERGE Studio, for example,
/CONVERGE 3.1/Linux/CONVERGE Studio
Files in this path are named according to the convention CONVERGE_Studio_<operating system>_<architecture>_<release date>.<package type> (for example, CONVERGE_Studio_windows_64_2019_05_20.msi for a 64-bit Windows version). You can install only one package on a system.
Table 10 below specifies the installation instructions for CONVERGE Studio 3.x.
After installation, the executable for CONVERGE Studio will be placed in the directory listed below in Table 11.
Table 11: Default directory in which the CONVERGE Studio executable is placed after installation.
Platform |
Location of the executable |
Windows |
C:\Program Files\Convergent_Science\CONVERGE Studio\v3.x\bin\ |
Linux |
/opt/Convergent_Science/CONVERGE Studio/v3.x/ |
During the CONVERGE Studio installation, the installer will put an invalid placeholder license.lic file in a license subdirectory in whichever directory you chose to install CONVERGE Studio, or by default, in
C:\Program Files\Convergent_Science\CONVERGE Studio\<version>\ (for Windows)
/opt/Convergent_Science/CONVERGE Studio/<version>/ (for Linux).
You must replace this file with a valid license.lic file provided by Convergent Science.
To run CONVERGE Studio, go to the installation directory and double-click on the executable, or open a terminal and type the full path to the executable. You might also choose to set up a shortcut or link to the executable. For a list of options that are available when running from the command line, refer to the CONVERGE Studio Manual.
