This one-day course offers a hands-on introduction to CONVERGE for internal combustion (IC) engine modeling. You will practice setting up several types of IC engine cases, including diesel, PFI spark-ignited, and pre-chamber. <div class="font-bold">Upon the completion of this course, you will know how to:</div> <ul class="list-disc ml-5"> <li>Prepare the piston and valves for motion</li> <li>Create an engine sector geometry for efficient computation</li> <li>Set up solver parameters and data files for engine simulations</li> <li>Control grid settings to obtain efficient and accurate engine simulation results</li> <li>Set up fuel injection via spray modeling</li> <li>Set up detailed chemical kinetics for accurate combustion and emissions modeling</li> <li>Set up wall heat transfer modeling in CONVERGE and direct CONVERGE to write heat</li> transfer quantities for thermal analysis <li>Set up additional modeling options that are important for engine simulations (e.g.,</li> turbulence and sources) <li>Post-process engine-relevant results in CONVERGE Studio</li> </ul>
